23 Oct HDTWO working with local charity Kirkwood Hospice
Kirkwood is an independent hospice and a registered charity providing specialist care, free of charge, to adults in Kirklees with advanced, progressive illnesses at any time from diagnosis to the end of life.
They rely on the financial support of the public so after meeting Kirkwood’s fundraiser Kate Leadbeater, HDTWO offered their services in the best way they knew.
We offered our time, free of charge, and went along to photograph the launch of Kirkwood’s ‘Business Buddies’, a great scheme which promotes local businesses who sign up to support the Hospice by providing exciting new marketing opportunities. This event coincided with the opening of the Hospice’s re-developed 16 bed in-patient unit in Huddersfield. We discussed with Kate that it would be a great opportunity for them to have some professional photography of all the interiors of the Hospice before it opened to patients. Photographers Paul and Adam created beautiful interior and exterior photographs for Kirkwood to use on their website and promotional material. Kate explained it would be great to show the photographs to patients that may need to be admitted to Kirkwood’s in-patient unit to help put their mind at ease and show them the amazing facilities they have to offer.
Our work has continued with Kirkwood Hospice and we photographed the leaflet cover for their ‘Light Up a Life’ Campaign, an image of two children with a candle. We are also looking forward to photographing the Kirkwood’s James Bond themed Ball at the end of this year.
We hope to continue our support with Kirkwood in the future. For details of how you can support the Hospice visit www.kirkwoodhospice.co.uk
